Biomimetics combines biology and technology with the goal of solving technical problems by means of abstraction, transfer and application of knowledge of biological research, and merges life sciences with technical disciplines.
The international office, located in Berlin, is operated as well as financed by the German ¨Bionik-Kompetenznetz¨ (BIOKON) with generous support by the German Federal Ministry of Education and Research. This financial and structural support enables BIOKON international´s start.
Due to the statutes the main function of BIOKON international is to spread information related to biomimetics activities, to facilitate networking of our members and to organize a platform and a worldwide forum for biomimetic scientists and other interested persons.
